2019 is almost here! This month has been going by SO fast! Before 2018 gets away from me completely, I wanted to make 19 goals for 2019. Originally I was only going to do a couple goals, but 19 seemed like a fun number for 2019.
1. See friends and family more often
When I look back on the past couple of years, I notice that I haven’t seen some people as much as I would have liked to. I want to change that! If only it would be easier to make everyone’s schedules line up…
2. Eat meals that increase satiety & help me snack less
Even though snacking helps me stay awake during the day, it’s not really good for your body to always be snacking. I’ve been incorporating different foods that are more filling but still nutritious into my meals at work and I want to continue to do this in 2019.
3. Drink more water daily
I’ve been trying to do this every day and I think I can still drink more water.
4. Redecorate house and rearrange furniture
We recently got rid of some furniture destroyed by Travis’ dog. Now I need to rearrange our furniture in some rooms, add different furniture, and use this opportunity to redecorate the house. Problem is that I’m not good at any of these things!
5. Read 20 books
Key word is read – so this doesn’t include audio books. It can be printed or e-books.
6. Read at least 15 pages a day
To try to achieve goal #5, goal #6 should help. This is more to just make sure I keep up with the habit of reading every single day.
7. Make all of my doctor appointments (and go to them)
I keep an appointment if I make one, but making all the appointments doesn’t always happen. I’m going to try to schedule all of those appointments in 2019.
8. Take the dogs on more hikes
There’s really no excuse for this except for really hot weather or rain. Our dogs don’t handle really hot heat very well. In the spring, it’s hard to go to the park because of rain and mud. We need to take advantage of every other nice day, even if it’s not on the weekend.
9. Do YouTube yoga at home if I can’t go to a real yoga class
This will be really helpful during busy season when I really have no time for the gym.
10. Spend less money during busy season
Last year, spending money and having packages waiting for me when I got home after a long day was pretty fun, but I’d like to do less of that this year. Though this may be hard when I’m trying to redecorate a house…
11. Continue to save money every month
Or more precisely, every paycheck. This is just good practice.
12. Visit friends in Maine
Travis and I have a couple of friends who moved to Maine this fall. We have never been to Maine, so it will be really fun to visit them next summer. We will make it happen.
13. Cook a recipe from a cookbook once a month
I miss using cookbooks! Using them constantly gets stressful but doing it once in a while is fun.
14. Finish a jigsaw puzzle
I started a jigsaw puzzle last winter and never finished it. It’s still sitting, waiting to be finished. Maybe I can do it in 2019.
15. Work on blog every week, even if I don’t publish a post every week
Once tax season starts, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep up with once-a-week blog posts. I haven’t even been able to keep up this month. But I still want to work on it every week, whether it’s writing, editing the site, or anything else.
16. Use a face mask every week
I think this will help me and my skin to de-stress after long days.
17. Snooze alarm less
When you start a new routine, it’s not too bad. For the most part, you’re energized and ready for it. After a while though, it gets hard to keep going. I’m putting this goal here so I remember to not start snoozing my alarm multiple times when I need to get up at 5 am.
18. Send Christmas cards in 2019
Travis and I haven’t done this in a few years. I’ve always seemed to run out of time… hopefully not in 2019!
19. Review these goals every quarter
Every few months, I want to look back at this post and remind myself of my 2019 goals, see how they’re coming along, and make changes I need to make.
