We’re well into June and I feel like it has rained most of the month. And looking at the forecast, it looks like it will rain for the rest of the month, too. May was pretty rainy here in Indiana, too. I’m ready for the rain to go away! Meanwhile, here’s what’s on my radar this month.
May was a really good month for reading! I read six books. That’s even more than I read in March (which had 2 audiobooks)! All of them were actual books or e-books, none were audiobooks. The first one I did start in April and finished in May, but that makes it go on the May list. Here’s what I read in May:
At the start of 2019, I hosted my first themed dinner party. The theme was France: French wine and cuisine. Everyone had to bring a French dish and French wine. I think it was a big hit and I can’t wait to do more of these!
To be honest, I did not come up with the idea for a themed dinner party like this. One of my good friends and her family do these kinds of dinners all the time and I had to try it out for myself.
Writing this reading list made me realize that these were good months for books! I’ve been on a roll reading books that have not disappointed me. I hope this continues! I think the trick is to just not set high expectations and read every book with an open mind.
I think I need to do a better job with realistically rating the books though. I noticed I gave a lot of 5’s on this one (on a 1 to 5 scale, 5 being the highest score). That’s not a bad thing but it may not be super helpful when I give 5’s all the time. I’ll try to improve on that next month. I think I did a better job rating books last time, or I just loved more books this time!
