Tuna is a great source of protein and has a low glycemic index, which is basically a measurement of the amount of carbohydrates (mainly sugar) in a food. I think the simplest way to eat tuna at home is by buying canned tuna. The problem is that it does not have the most pleasant taste.. It tastes pretty fishy. This recipe helps get rid of that fishy taste and makes the canned tuna taste good! There is one ingredient that you cannot skip – it’s the key!
Sugar, or in this case stevia, is the key ingredient. The Greek yogurt is the healthy swap for mayo and the stone ground mustard makes this tuna salad complete.
This tuna salad is best when eaten very soon after making. I would say to eat it within 24 hours for the best flavor.
You can eat this tuna salad however you want – on its own, in a salad, in lettuce wraps, in a pita, as a sandwich, or any other way you come up with!
Don’t be afraid to get creative and add other toppings too!
